Quick answer
HOA gutter approval in Irvine: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine found that, as of October 2026, Woodbridge Village Association requires architectural approval before any new or altered rain gutters, with gutters matching the fascia or roof, and gives its committee 30 days to decide a complete application. California Civil Code 4765 sets no statewide day count; it requires each association to publish its own maximum response time and decide in writing. Call (949) 994-4410 or book online.
South County HOA Gutter Rules
Why your HOA cares about your gutters, and what it publishes
Across Irvine’s villages and the big South County master plans, gutters and downspouts count as exterior changes. They sit on the fascia line where neighbors and the street see them, they change the color story of the house, and they decide where roof water lands in a tight side yard. That is why most associations want an application before new gutters go up, and why the rules usually focus on three things: color, material and where the downspouts drain.
The published rules vary. Woodbridge Village Association requires a Home Improvement Application and committee approval for any new rain gutters or changes to existing ones, with gutters matched to the fascia or roof and downspouts matched to the wall behind them. Ladera Ranch’s LARMAC wants gutters colored to match the surfaces they attach to, tied into the yard drainage system, and bars copper outright. Great Park Neighborhoods files rain gutters under its Minor Architectural review category and asks owners to allow up to 45 days. SAMLARC in Rancho Santa Margarita posts its Architectural Standards only on its Resident Portal and reviews applications twice a month. Westpark, Northwood, Turtle Rock and Quail Hill do not post gutter rules on a public page we could open, so ask the association or its management company for the current standards before you pick a color.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine is owned by Sara Baayoun, and our crews work HOA streets across Irvine and South County every week. We form seamless gutters on site in the profile and color your committee approves, set downspouts where the plan shows them, and write estimates with the size, material, color and downspout locations an architectural committee asks to see. If your association has a palette, bring it to the estimate and we will match it.

Why the Brothers
Why Irvine Homeowners Call the Brothers
Our written estimates list gutter size, profile, material, color and each downspout location, the details architectural committees in Woodbridge, Ladera Ranch and the Great Park ask applicants to show.
We form seamless aluminum on site in a wide range of colors, so gutters disappear into the fascia or roof line and downspouts blend into the wall behind them.
When your association requires approval, we schedule the install after you have the written decision, so work starts only once the committee has signed off.

Year-round
Your Irvine gutter calendar
HOA review windows run 30 to 60 days, so plan gutter work a season ahead of the rain.
- Fall · Sep to NovSubmit before the first storm
Rainy season runs roughly November through March. With review windows of 30 to 45 days, a September application is the last comfortable shot at new gutters before winter.
- Winter · Dec to FebRepair now, upgrade later
Storms expose loose seams and overflowing corners. Call for repairs in matching color, and ask your association whether a repair counts as an alteration before changing anything.
- Spring · Mar to MayGather specs and signatures
Spring is the time to collect neighbor awareness signatures, photos and our written specs, since incomplete applications are returned or denied without review.
- Summer · Jun to AugInstall while the sky is clear
Approved projects can be built in dry weather. Woodbridge expects minor projects substantially complete within 45 days of starting, so schedule the install once approval arrives.

Often, yes. Woodbridge Village Association requires a Home Improvement Application and Architectural Committee approval before any new rain gutters or changes to existing ones, and Great Park Neighborhoods lists rain gutters under its Minor Architectural review fee. Other villages covered in this guide, including Westpark, Northwood, Turtle Rock and Quail Hill, did not post gutter rules publicly, so request the standards from your association before ordering.
Civil Code 4765 does not set a statewide number of days. It requires each association to put a fair, reasonable and expeditious procedure in its governing documents, with prompt deadlines and a stated maximum response time. The published windows we found for this guide are 30 days at Woodbridge, 45 days at Ladera Ranch and up to 45 days at Great Park Neighborhoods.
Not under the current LARMAC Aesthetic Standards. The exterior color guidelines state that copper diverters, gutters, downspouts or similar features are not permitted, and that gutters and downspouts must be painted an approved color or painted to match the adjacent surface. We install seamless aluminum in matching colors, which fits that rule. Confirm with LARMAC at contact.larmac@LaderaLife.com before you order.
Woodbridge requires new gutters to match the existing fascia or roof color and downspouts to match the adjacent color. Ladera Ranch wants gutters colored to match the surfaces they attach to, and United Mutual in Laguna Woods Village requires gutters and downspouts in the same color from its exterior paint options. Check your own palette, since this guide covers only published rules.
Ask in writing. Civil Code 4765 requires every association to give members an annual notice describing which changes need approval and including a copy of its review procedure. If a decision is a denial, the association must explain why in writing and describe how to request reconsideration by the board at an open meeting. SAMLARC, for example, posts its standards on its Resident Portal.
