Quick answer
Gutter services in Dana Point, CA: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine forms seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel gutters on site for Dana Point homes, most of them built in the 1970s and 1980s, plus the original 1920s houses of the Lantern Village. We hand clean sand, palm fronds and wind grit, replace salt-corroded hangers and screws near the harbor and bluffs, repair soft fascia and fit stainless BroGuard micro-mesh, so roughly 12.7 inches of yearly rain, most of it from December through February, leaves the roof cleanly. Dana Point Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for Dana Point’s harbor hills and blufftop streets
Dana Point began as a land syndicate in 1926. Sidney Woodruff built about three dozen homes in what is now the Lantern Village, on streets named for the colored lanterns trading ships once carried, and 34 of those houses are still lived in. Capistrano Beach grew separately, with Spanish-style houses going up on the bluff in the late 1920s. The big wave came later: the harbor was dedicated in 1971, the population climbed from 4,745 in 1970 to 31,896 in 1990, and the city incorporated on January 1, 1989. Census estimates date 63 percent of today’s homes to the 1970s and 1980s, so most Dana Point houses are now 35 to 55 years old.
Weather here comes off the ocean. The nearest NOAA station with 1991 to 2020 normals, in Laguna Beach just up the coast, averages 12.68 inches a year, and 8.04 inches of it falls from December through February. On most days the bigger threat is the air itself: salt and marine fog work on screws, hangers and end caps until a run pulls away from the fascia, while blowing sand and palm litter settle in the trough between storms. On streets near the bluffs and the harbor, BroGuard micro-mesh in stainless steel keeps sand and fronds out without rusting in the sea air.
Sara Baayoun owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine, and our locally owned crew works all of Dana Point, from Niguel Shores and Monarch Beach to the Lantern Village and Capistrano Beach. We form seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel on site, clean by hand, swap corroded hardware, replace soft fascia and plan underground drainage on bluff and hillside lots where a downspout should never empty toward an edge. About 62 percent of Dana Point homes are owner-occupied, and landlords get the same free written estimate as owners. The same crew covers San Clemente just down the coast.

Why the Brothers
Why Dana Point Homeowners Call the Brothers
Near the harbor and bluffs, cheap fasteners rust out first. We swap them for hardware that lasts on the coast.
On lots near an edge, we decide where each downspout empties before a single run goes up.
Lantern Village houses get their trim repaired first and a gutter profile that suits the house.

Usually it is the hardware, not the gutter. Salt in the marine air works on hangers, screws and spikes until they rust through and the run drops away from the fascia. Aluminum troughs often look fine while the fasteners behind them fail. We test every hanger by hand, replace the corroded ones with coast-rated hardware and rehang the run with a steady fall to the downspout.
Yes. The original Woodruff houses and other early homes in the Lantern Village have trim and rooflines worth keeping. We repair soft fascia first, then form a seamless profile that fits the eave, in colored aluminum to blend with the trim or copper where it suits the house. You see the profile and color before we start.
To a planned outlet: the street, a buried line or the drainage system the lot was built with, never onto a bluff face or a bare slope, where concentrated roof water can carry soil away. We walk each downspout’s path with you, put the fix in writing and tell you plainly when a question needs a civil or geotechnical engineer.
Only at the edge. On CAL FIRE’s local map dated March 24, 2025, about 5 percent of Dana Point is in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, along the northwest side toward Laguna Niguel, and another 2 percent is mapped High. Most of the city sits outside the zones. A gutter full of dry leaves is still easy fuel for wind-blown embers, so we keep troughs clean and fit non-combustible BroGuard mesh where trees overhang the roof.
Start in the fall. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center has an El Niño Advisory in effect and expects a strong event through early 2027. Strong El Niño winters often bring Southern California more rain than usual, though no single winter is guaranteed. Before December we clear every run, flush each downspout, replace rusted hangers and confirm every outlet drains where it should, especially on sloped lots.
