Quick answer
Gutter services in Newport Heights, CA: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine forms seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel gutters on site for Newport Heights homes on the bluff above Pacific Coast Highway, where nearly 4 in 10 houses date to before 1960 and the median was built in 1969. We clean leaves, sand and salt grit by hand, replace rusted hangers, rebuild soft fascia on older eaves and fit stainless BroGuard micro-mesh, so the roughly 9.4 inches of rain a year at the nearby harbor station runs off cleanly instead of overflowing at the corners. Newport Heights Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for the homes above Mariners Mile
Newport Heights sits on the cliff above Pacific Coast Highway, looking down on Mariners Mile and the harbor, inside a rough box of PCH, Dover Drive, 16th Street and Newport Boulevard. It is one of the older parts of Newport Beach that is still mostly houses: in the census tract that covers most of the neighborhood, 72 percent of homes are single-family detached, 39 percent were built before 1960, and the median home dates to 1969. Many of the original 1950s bungalows have been remodeled or replaced, so a single block can mix 70-year-old eaves with brand-new rooflines.
That mix shapes the work. On the older houses, original hangers and fascia have taken decades of salt air and the occasional overflow, and a run can sag from one bad bracket. On remodels, larger roofs often drain into the same few outlets the old house had. Rain is light, at 9.43 inches a year at the NOAA Newport Beach Harbor station about two miles southeast, but roughly two thirds of it comes in December, January and February. Under the neighborhood’s mature trees, BroGuard micro-mesh in stainless steel keeps leaves and sand out and will not rust in the marine air.
Sara Baayoun owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Irvine, and our crew works all of Newport Heights, from the blocks along Cliff Drive and Cliff Drive Park to the streets off Irvine Avenue and Santa Ana Avenue. We form seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel on site, clean by hand, replace rusted hardware and soft fascia, and plan underground drainage where a yard slopes toward the bluff and should never take a downspout’s full flow. Most homes here, about three in four, are owner-occupied, and rentals get the same free written estimate. The same crew covers neighboring Costa Mesa, right next door.

Why the Brothers
Why Newport Heights Homeowners Call the Brothers
Fasteners rust first this close to the harbor, so we replace them with hardware rated for the coast.
When a remodel adds roof, we add outlets so one downspout is not doing the work of three.
Original 1940s and 1950s houses get fascia repairs first and a profile that fits the house.

Usually there is more roof than the downspouts can handle. A bigger roof sends more water into the same few outlets, and in a hard storm the gutter fills faster than it drains. We measure the new roof area, size the gutter to it, add downspouts where the water collects and send each one to a proper outlet. Sometimes a 6-inch gutter is the fix; sometimes it is one more downspout.
Yes. Many Newport Heights houses still carry their mid-century lines, and a bulky gutter can spoil them. We repair rotted fascia first, then form a simple seamless profile in a color matched to the trim, and we put downspouts on corners where they stay out of sight. You approve the profile and color before we start.
No. Newport Heights sits outside the Fire Hazard Severity Zones on CAL FIRE’s local map dated March 24, 2025. In Newport Beach, the Very High areas are concentrated in Newport Coast and the canyon edges of Corona del Mar. Even so, CAL FIRE says embers can ignite homes up to a mile away, so keeping dry leaves out of the gutter is good practice anywhere.
It does. Newport Heights sits just above the harbor, close enough that marine air reaches the roof edge. The damage shows up at the screws, hangers and end caps long before the gutter itself looks worn. During every cleaning and estimate we check brackets by hand and replace any that have rusted, so a run does not drop in the middle of a storm.
Clean and check before December. NOAA forecasters have an El Niño Advisory in place and see a strong to very strong event lasting into early 2027. Winters like that have often been wet ones in Southern California, but the forecast is a tendency, not a promise. Clear every run, flush the downspouts, replace rusted hangers and make sure remodeled roofs have enough outlets for a heavy storm.
