San Clemente Gutter Solutionists

Gutters for the Spanish Village by the Sea

San Clemente started in 1925, when Ole Hanson laid out a Spanish-style town and had the deeds require white walls and red tile roofs. The rule did not last, but the look did. Walk Avenida Del Mar, the Pier Bowl or the blocks around Casa Romantica and you still see stucco, tile and arched porches, and those rooflines need gutters that fit the style instead of fighting it. Inland, Talega, Forster Ranch and Rancho San Clemente climb the hills with newer HOA homes and tile roofs that shed water downhill in a hurry.

Most of the trouble on the coastal side comes from the ocean. Salt air works on hangers and fasteners, marine layer mornings keep the trough damp, and wind off the water pushes grit and palm fronds into every corner. Close to the 1,295-foot pier and along the bluffs of North Beach and Southwest San Clemente, we often find gutters that look fine from the sidewalk but are loose at nearly every bracket. In the canyons and on the hill streets, sycamore, pine and eucalyptus add leaves and needles that pack the downspouts before winter.

Sara Baayoun owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters for South Orange County, and our local crew serves both ZIPs in San Clemente, from Shorecliffs down to the south end of town. We form seamless aluminum on site, offer copper gutters for Spanish and Mediterranean homes, replace rotted fascia, repair leaks, clean and flush every downspout and install BroGuard micro-mesh. On hillside lots we plan underground drainage so roof water leaves the slope alone.

Why the Brothers

Why San Clemente Homeowners Call the Brothers

01Respect for the style

We size and place gutters to suit red tile roofs and stucco walls, so a San Clemente home keeps the Spanish Village look it was built with.

02Built for the marine air

Near the pier and along the bluffs we check every fastener for salt wear and use hardware and metals that hold up by the ocean.

03Slope-aware drainage

In Talega, Forster Ranch and Rancho San Clemente we route downspouts so roof water does not run across slopes or pool at the slab.

04Call the owner’s team

Sara Baayoun runs this franchise with a local crew that knows the coast. Phone (949) 994-4410 and we will set up a free written estimate on your San Clemente home.

San Clemente Gutter Questions, Answered

Will new gutters look right on our San Clemente Spanish-style home?

They should, if they are planned for the house. We measure each eave and form seamless runs on site, choose a profile and color that sits quietly under red tile, and place downspouts where they do not cut across arches or front walls. Copper is also an option that suits many older San Clemente homes and ages to a soft patina.

How does the ocean air affect gutters near the pier?

Salt air mostly attacks the hardware. Hangers, screws and end caps corrode first, so a run near the Pier Bowl, North Beach or the Southwest San Clemente bluffs can sag or leak while the gutter still looks fine. During every cleaning and estimate we check the brackets and replace what is failing before the winter storms put weight on them.

We live on a hill in Talega. Where should the downspouts drain?

Away from the foundation and never straight onto the slope. Hillside lots in Talega, Forster Ranch and Rancho San Clemente move water quickly, and a downspout dumping in the wrong spot can soak a slope or undercut a walkway. We can add extensions, relocate outlets or tie into underground drainage, and we walk the lot with you before anything is written up.

How often should San Clemente gutters be cleaned?

Most homes here need a cleaning in fall and a check in spring. Homes under palms, pine or eucalyptus, especially up the hill and near the canyons, may need a third visit. Even without trees, wind off the ocean leaves grit in the trough. BroGuard micro-mesh or our maintenance program takes most of that work off your list.

Do you also work in Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano?

Yes. The same local crew covers the South County coast and the nearby inland cities, including Dana Point, Capistrano Beach and San Juan Capistrano. Call (949) 994-4410 or book online and a Solutionist will look over the whole roofline and leave a free written estimate.
